●GA4 & Google Tag Manager

GA4 and Google Tag Manager setup for data you can trust and act on

Marketing decisions, the optimization algorithms of advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, ChatGPT Ads, etc.) and AI-generated insights all run on the data your tags collect. We build GA4 and Google Tag Manager setups from the measurement plan up: data layer, key events, conversions, Consent Mode v2 and first-party data collection, so GA4, your advertising platforms and your backend report the same numbers.

Whether you're launching a new property, rebuilding a GA4 setup that has drifted since it was first implemented, or need an audit before scaling ad spend, we make sure every important interaction is measured correctly and reaches the platforms that use it.

When you need a GA4 setup

When you can't trust your data

Every decision built on bad data is a bad decision, and today the same data also feeds the optimization algorithms of advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, ChatGPT Ads, etc.) and AI-generated insights. If GA4 and Google Tag Manager aren't set up correctly, you report duplicate conversions, lose events to consent and browser restrictions, or misclassify traffic. A correct setup fixes the foundation your marketing, campaign optimization and reporting rely on.

01 report

Data you can't trust

Duplicate conversions, missing events or gaps between GA4, your advertising platforms and your backend make you decide on the wrong numbers.

02 history

A GA4 setup nobody has revisited

Your property was configured in a rush during the move from Universal Analytics and hasn't been reviewed since: outdated events, no filters, settings nobody remembers choosing.

03 gpp_bad

Consent Mode that doesn't work as it should

Your CMP and Consent Mode v2 don't send the right signals, so you lose modeled conversions and remarketing audiences, and collection may not meet GDPR requirements.

04 visibility_off

Limited reporting

No access to raw data, sampled or thresholded reports and dashboards nobody uses, so reporting stays shallow and hard to act on.

05 signal_disconnected

Lost signal

Ad blockers, browser restrictions and short-lived cookies hide part of your traffic and conversions from GA4 and your ad platforms.

06 smart_toy

AI traffic you can't see

Visitors arrive from ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or Perplexity, but your reports lump them into Referral or Direct.

Service components

What a complete GA4 setup covers

From the measurement plan to GA4, GTM, consent and BigQuery, each component covers a stage on the way to trustworthy data. Tap "See more" for details.

Component 01

Measurement plan

We define what we measure and why.

We start from business goals and map them to key events, conversions, parameters and custom dimensions, including what happens outside the website: CRM, payments, call center. The result is a measurement plan and a data layer specification your developers can implement without guesswork.

Component 02

GA4 configuration

Property, data streams, settings and integrations.

We configure the GA4 property correctly: data streams, enhanced measurement, data retention, hostname and internal traffic filters, cross-domain, custom definitions and channel groups, including the AI Assistant channel. We link Google Ads, Search Console, Merchant Center and Google Business Profile, and set up key events and conversions with the right attribution settings.

Component 03

Google Tag Manager setup

Web and server-side containers, data layer.

We set up a new container or clean up an existing one: tags, triggers, variables, naming conventions and a robust data layer. Where it adds value, we add a server-side GTM container and Google tag gateway, so tags load from your own domain and data reaches GA4 and your advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, ChatGPT Ads, etc.) more completely.

Component 04

Event tracking & conversions

GA4 events, ecommerce and leads.

We implement recommended and custom GA4 events for the interactions that matter: forms, leads, sign-ups, search, video and the full ecommerce funnel, from view_item to purchase and refund. We send key conversions to your advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, ChatGPT Ads, etc.), with first-party data for better matching through enhanced conversions or Conversions API, and use Measurement Protocol or the Data Manager API for events only your backend knows about, such as qualified leads or cancelled orders.

Component 05

Consent Mode v2 & GDPR

Consent-first data collection.

We integrate your consent platform (CMP) with Consent Mode v2, choose between Basic and Advanced implementation together with your legal team, and verify that all four consent signals reach every tag. First-party and server-side collection improve data quality, but never replace user consent.

Component 06

BigQuery & reporting

Raw data and dashboards people actually use.

We enable the GA4 export to BigQuery for raw, event-level data and model it into clean reporting tables. On top, we build GA4 dashboards for quick KPI checks and Data Studio reports that combine GA4 with cost data from your advertising platforms, CRM and margin data. The same base supports attribution, LTV and predictive models.

Our process

From audit to monitoring, with verified data at every step

We don't just deliver tags. We check every event and every conversion against your real orders and leads, so you leave with a setup you can trust.

Step 01

Audit & measurement plan

We review your current GA4, GTM, consent and ad platform setup against your goals, then define the measurement plan: events, key events, conversions, parameters and data layer.

settings
Step 02

GA4 & GTM setup

We configure the GA4 property, the web and server-side GTM containers, the data layer and the tags, according to the measurement plan.

ads_click
Step 03

Tracking, consent & first-party data

We implement events, ecommerce, conversions and Consent Mode v2 with your CMP, plus Google tag gateway, enhanced conversions and backend events where relevant.

fact_check
Step 04

Validation & QA

We test every tag and event across consent states, browsers and devices, and reconcile GA4 with your backend and advertising platforms before launch.

monitoring
Step 05

Reporting, handover & monitoring

We enable the BigQuery export, build the dashboards and hand over the documentation. After launch, we watch data quality and GA4 diagnostics, so issues are caught before they reach your reports.

What we configure

Everything that goes into a correct GA4 setup

We check and configure every element that decides whether your data is complete, compliant and trustworthy.

01 layers

Data layer

A documented data layer, the single source of truth for tags, events and every platform that reads them.

02 tune

GA4 configuration

Data streams, retention, hostname and internal filters, custom definitions and channel groups, set up correctly.

03 sell

GTM, web and server-side

Clean, well-named containers in the browser and on the server, easy to maintain and audit.

04 ads_click

Events, key events & conversions

GA4 events for the interactions that matter, with key events and advertising platform conversions marked correctly.

05 shopping_cart

Ecommerce & lead tracking

view_item to purchase and refund, or form to qualified lead, with correct values, items and parameters.

06 verified_user

Consent Mode v2 & GDPR

CMP integration and all four consent signals passed to every tag, for compliant collection.

07 dns

First-party data

Google tag gateway, enhanced conversions and server-to-server events that recover signal lost in the browser.

08 database

BigQuery & dashboards

Raw event-level data in BigQuery, GA4 dashboards and Data Studio reports built around business decisions.

09 fact_check

Validation & monitoring

Every tag and event tested before launch and watched after it, so data stays trustworthy.

GA4 setup FAQ

GA4 implementation is the process of configuring Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager correctly on your site or app: measurement plan, data layer, tags, events, key events, conversions, consent and reporting. Done well, it gives you complete, clean data that GA4, your advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, ChatGPT Ads, etc.) and your other tools can rely on.
GA4 is the analytics platform that collects, processes and reports data. Google Tag Manager is the system that deploys and manages tags for GA4 and other platforms, in the browser and, with a server-side container, on your own server, without editing site code for every change.
Cost depends on site complexity, the number of events and the integrations involved: ecommerce, server-side tagging, backend events, BigQuery. We offer both standard setups and advanced configurations; request a custom quote.
An audit checks whether GA4, GTM and Consent Mode are configured correctly: duplicate tags, missing or wrong events, filters, consent signals, ecommerce data and how closely GA4 matches your advertising platforms and your backend. The result is a prioritized list of issues and fixes.
The BigQuery export gives you raw, event-level data with no sampling, thresholding or 14-month retention limit, which you can join with CRM, cost and margin data. It's the base for business-level reporting, attribution and predictive models.
A standard setup usually takes 1-3 weeks, depending on complexity. Advanced configurations with server-side tagging, backend events or BigQuery modeling take longer, including data validation.
Not always. Google tag gateway, which serves Google tags from your own domain, is a light first step for most sites. A server-side GTM container makes sense when you send data to several platforms, need control over what leaves your site, or want to enrich events with backend data.
Key events are the actions that matter for your business, such as a purchase or a lead. Conversions are the key events you also use in Google Ads for bidding and reporting, managed in the Advertising section with their own attribution settings. Other advertising platforms (Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, ChatGPT Ads, etc.) receive the same events through their own tags or server-side integrations.
Yes. Since May 2026, GA4 groups visits from recognized assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude into an AI Assistant channel. We add a custom channel group for the sources it doesn't recognize yet, and explain why part of AI traffic still lands in Direct.
No. It improves data quality and control, but tags still respect the consent the user gave. We implement it alongside Consent Mode v2 and your CMP, never as a way around them.
